The vote is now complete. Vehicle saving was chosen by the majority with 60% of votes.

So, I really wish to increment our version number to v1.0 in order to start promoting the mission more broadly and increase the player base.

I initially said that v1.0 will be released when bounty hunting is done, however I haven't even started working on it yet, besides writing some specifications, since it requires the scoreboard to be completed first (which is almost done). So, many of you have been asking for vehicle saving to be added into the mission.

Since both features might take a bit of time to code (couple weeks, maybe up to a month each), I want to ask you which one should make it to v1 first.

Chose wisely! ;)


Other major features that will be added in v1.0 are:

- Custom scoreboard (90% complete)
- Full rewrite of the server mission system (80% complete)
- Addonless saving, Linux compatibility (50% complete)

Revive will be released as v0.9h this weekend or the next one.

I opt for vehicle saving. There are already many ways to get money. I don't think bounty hunting should be put as first priority.

Completely biased here since I have vehicle saving working at present (since revive beta, my bounty has been very broken and removed )

Everyone's been asking for the scoreboard as well so that in itself is a nobrainer ;) Scoreboard + bounty = happy PVP.

As for some of the other changes , perhaps some indication of how it will change ? Server Missions etc ?

If it just involves the A3W_ variables, that would be great , globally define the missiondefs etc. I've done a fair bit of customization on my missions including the NPC randomizer and customized NPC behaviour & difficulty.

Coming  back to the topic though ... People who play wasteland, play for PVP - scoreboard + bounty > vehicle saving - leave VS for release 1.1 :>

There are some servers running vehicle saving already using some quick and dirty hacks. basically by modifying the oload.sqf and osave.sqf files to save locked vehicles instead of locked baseparts.

therefore i also think the bounty hunt/scoreboard stuff is more important

please take care at the bounty hunt implementation because on earlier implementations of bounty hunt independent players just left there group - get killed for the bounty and are reinvited and tricked the system that way.

one solution to combat this would be:
-whoever is the bounty target when the timer runs out gets the money.
-whoever kills the bounty target is the new bounty target

It's not just about money, but rather about PVP action.

please take care at the bounty hunt implementation because on earlier implementations of bounty hunt independent players just left there group - get killed for the bounty and are reinvited and tricked the system that way.

Don't worry, I already planned for that when writing the specs.

I have pretty much streamlined controller and mission scripts to be completely modular, that is, the controllers and mission files now only contain variables to define what is needed to run the mission, and they are applied on top of a template that takes care of all the background stuff, like timers, markers, hint broadcasting and other things like that.

One thing that it will allow for is to run multiple controllers of the same type to increase the number of simultaneous missions, which will be limited at 6 at the beginning (excluding bounty).

I still have to evaluate how this would affect compatibility with current mission scripts for those who simply wish to copy and paste their custom missions into v1.

great news  :D.

We are running multiple instances of the mission controllers (up to 19 missions at the same time) already on our server without problem (using 09.gh). We had to disable the hint announcements and place additional mission spawn markers but besides that it was just a for loop in the server\init.sqf

I voted for bounty hunting. People used to ask for vehicle saving a lot but on a big map like altis, bounty hunting is a better way to draw people together. Vehicle saving is still very important for most people who don't have all day to play to the game and want to just spend a few hours playing in the evenings.

Bounty hunting will be enabled by default, while vehicle saving won't be.

Player saving will be enabled by default too, thanks to addonless saving.

I would like to see vehicle saving first. Bounty hunting is kind of... meh, at least to me. I have never had any trouble finding plenty of conflict by going after objectives, and that definitely fulfills my PvP itch. However, vehicle saving would add a more persistent feeling to the world. You don't know how sad it makes me to fight for thirty minutes to finally get the helicopter I've been eyeing, only to need to get off because I have to get up in the morning. I fly it around for a few minutes and think of how much fun it would be if I could hide it somewhere and use it the next day. :'(

Either way, I'm really happy with the way this Wasteland is going. It's by far my favorite.

I just recently brought a server up and I personally would like to see Both options but Vehicle saving to me out ways the bounty hunting for the same reason Josh131313 stated.  There is nothing like going after an objective or buying a vehicle with some earned money and when you log out and the server restarts it is gone.

That could be done if you can translate it, right guys?
